Even though Traci was sick, we managed to take Alyssa to her first pumpkin patch. They have this great one in Long Beach that has rides, games, food, petting zoo and of course pumpkins. We played some games and Alyssa got to ride the merry-go-round for the first time. She was able to roam the aisles of pumpkins and pick one out. Some of the pumpkins were larger than her. All in all, we all had a great time.
(Traci did pay the price for going out sick though and she's been sick since)
She roamed around and found one she liked.

This past week...
Not a whole lot happened this past week. Although, we did find a "dime" in Alyssa's mouth...must always check the floors for small objects. The kids somehow can find the smallest things and of course, it goes straight in the mouth.
Today, we went out to buy/install a new convertible car seat. Basically, it's bigger, more upright and has more cushion. She likes it so far.
Alyssa started this new thing this week of wanting to ride around the house in her pink chair. Traci bought the chair awhile back, but she never really used it. So Traci would place her in it and pull her around. Now every time she sits in the chair, she wants a ride. She then starts to cry when we stop.(it's very tiring)

Smores has no idea...

Matt's 50th Birthday!!!
Last weekend, everyone got together to celebrate Matt's 50th birthday. Mom hosted a party at the Monterey Hill Restaurant in Monterey Park. It was nice to see all of Alyssa's cousins in one place. Even though the party was for Matt, the kids took it over. Everyone had a really good time. Matt said he was kind of surprised but the sign in the lobby announcing the party location and seeing some family members in the parking lot prior to arriving gave it away.

Late Blog Update...

Love my Autnie Lisa (sad we didn't get a pic of the bday girl)

Stitch...a new buddy to climb on

"Thanks for the book, Grandpa!"

Great Grandma and Alyssa

There was this cool tree tunnel at the Aquarium. Chase and Alyssa both loved it.

The lady on the bench is shocked to see such a tiny person walking.

Weekend in VEGAS!!!
So after 1 1/2 years, we finally made it back to Las Vegas. Alyssa has been to many places so far, but never here. We're very fortunate that Grandpa has a house in Vegas where we could stay. It's much easier traveling with a little one when there's a lot of space for her to roam and play. Alyssa did really well with the car ride there and back (no crying and was very relaxed). She also loved hanging out with Grandpa and Grandma Linda (unfortunately G-ma Linda was a bit sick). Traci and I got to go on our second date night in the last month. A few weeks ago, Grandpa and Grandma Linda babysat while we went to Mastro's Steakhouse(great service) This was a practice session for the Vegas trip. So by this weekend, Alyssa was used to seeing them and was really relaxed by their company. We were able to hang out on the Strip till late and it brought back memories of our younger years. (we barely made it till midnight...getting old) All in all, it was a one of our most memorable vacations in a long time.
Updates: Alyssa walks most of the time...rarely crawls. She's getting pretty fast. As a result, Mommy has bought Alyssa her fourth pair of shoes (she's only been walking for about a month)
She's has a total of six teeth (they're popping like crazy). She's eating more but is still very petite. She's VERY active, never sits still...always seems to be on a mission.
Grandpa bought her a USC sweater at the football game last weekend.
Thank God for Oswald!
On a Mission
Date Night (it felt like a prom picture)
Ate at Dos Caminos in the Palazzo...very cool Mexican restaurant with awesome guacamole.

Our little explorer....
Since Alyssa is on her feet now, she's into exploring her surroundings. Which meant that it was time for us to put safety locks on some of the cabinets that are off limits to her. She is so interested in checking everything out and can occupy herself with one object for quite a while. The other day she decided to look at the inventory in our baby food cabinet and we think she liked what she found in there.
By the stairs looking at a toy...we have to block off the stairs soon
"Hmmm...what do we have here?"
Found something interesting...
CAUGHT!
Hat off...wild and crazy hair! (Did you spot Smores?)

Walking Machine!!!
Alyssa began taking steps about a month ago and is now quite good. She actually prefers to walk instead of crawl. She'll sit down after a number of steps but she'll walk across the room if she doesn't think about it. We bought her a walker over a month ago and she'll stand next to it and then just walk away from it...she never really used it. She likes to hold objects in her hands as she walks. We think this helps her balance. It's nice to know that she's advancing quickly, however, we realize that it requires more work on our part once they become more mobile. But we're really proud of her.
